Glitz, Why not Associates

A very inspiring example of a corporate identity expanding towards three-dimensional shapes and placing the brand in the environment. This combines my passions of typography, environmental graphics and branding.

Chocolate Packaging

Chocolate branding is just one of the nicest design tasks! Yummie!

The Walk Book, Janet Cardiff

I love the design of this book, created by my placement supervisors at Zitromat.
The idea behind it is very conceptual and the headline font has been produced in a very playful way that takes upon a very different approach on designing a typeface.
The book got the award of 'the most beautiful book of the year' and I even saw it exhibited in the MOMA at San Francisco.

Mudam, Luxembourg

This is the new museum of modern art in Luxembourg.
The building has been designed by the architect who created the famous Louvre pyramid in Paris, Ming Pei.
I also like the museum's corporate identity which is very 'experimental' for Luxembourg.

We love magazines

We Love Magazines explores magazines and magazine culture with groundbreaking visuals and editorial contributions from around the world. The book features in-depth analysis of various aspects of magazine creation while, as the title reflects, celebrating with genuine pleasure a medium that continues to entertain, inform and surprise.
The book We Love Magazines was created as an accompaniment to the Colophon2007 magazine symposium, which takes place in Luxembourg.

Nico magazine

Nico is one of the seven publications of Mike Koedinger Editions, Luxembourg's leading independant publisher. Nico is a bi-annual magazine with a strong editorial content focusing on both emerging and senior talents in the fields of fashion, photography, art, design and illustration.
Its content is designed by Luxembourg's biggest editorial design studio, Ingrid, at which I enjoyed a placement giving me the full insight into the editorial field of design.

Neubau Modul, Die Gestalten

Neubau Modul is a practical tool that provides designers with over 2,000 editable and infinitely repeatable patterns. As with Neubau Welt, all of the work shown in this book can also be found as Adobe Illustrator and bitmap files on an included DVD that can be used on any platform.

'Since the founding in 1995, Gestalten has published over two hundred and fifty books and remains on the cutting-edge of visual publishing, translating the latest developments in all aspects of visual culture both for our own title list as well as for commissioned book projects. Compiled, edited and designed by graphic designers, our experimental yet professional publications span from graphic design, illustration, typography, object design, architecture and interior design to urban and contemporary art and are available worldwide and in the world’s most important design centers through international distribution.'

Sarah Kahn

Sarah Kahn just graduated and I admire her portfolio, some really nice, inspiring work!

Effective

Some really effective design there!

Nokia 'Got mail'

Amazing work from London based Andersen M Studio. The stop frame animation for Nokia is just so unusual and rather conceptual than commercial.

Yves Saint Laurent | Men's Collection 2008/2009

Instead of a traditional catwork show, Colonel Blimp directors Sarah Chatfield and Chris Sweeney have created a series of films to promote YSL men's collection 2009. I think they are very beautiful and atmospheric and it's a more modern way to approach fashion shows I guess.

Christopher Griffith

Christopher Griffith has created a new book that features the remains of burst tyres. I like his simple but very strong photography, especially the States book.

HVASS&HANNIBAL

This Danish based design studio have some really nice work out there. I really like this idea, the fact that you can arrange those dividers any way you want and the room will always look different and very colourful.

New York Times Magazine, J. Vallee

You should also check out his website, he does amazing work!

The kite runner titles

Beautiful typographic transitions!

Tactile

A really nice book displaying a lot of tactile and conceptual design.

Nespresso

This campaign is so successful! I love the coffee but more so the packaging and the way thy have thought of the colour combinations as well as the display for the stores.
Plus they have George Clooney as their brand image!

Korres, natural products

Because of private reasons i have been able to observe this company's development. They started selling their products in greek pharmacies and have now become very international while opening Korres stores in various cities as well as selling their products to other retailers. Their products are very successful as they only use natural elements in their production but I am sure they also appeal so much because of their very simple but gorgeous packaging and design!
